 "those of you who are in love, or have loved", By This review is from: Heart of Soul Classics (Audio CD) Hip-O Records with a wonderful sampler of '70s and '80s soul music that are truly classics. The common thread here is LOVE, holding in your hands a testament to the power of a great love song, addressed in a number of ways on this complicated subject. There may be a greater range in compilations, but this album goes far in selecting tunes from this period in R&B, when love is the thing. It's difficult to discern why a particular song was chosen for inclusion on this timeless "love in soul" album, but that doesn't stop it from being a reasonably entertaining sampler.We have many stand outs - "LET'S GET IT ON" (1973) the late great Marvin Gaye - "YOU TURNED MY WHOLE WORLD AROUND" (1977) Barry White makes the whole thing believable - "ON THE WINGS OF LOVE" (1982) Jeffrey Osbore on the experience with those invincible feelings of actually being in love - "CHERISH" (1985) a James Taylor/Kool & the Gang performed...
