It took a couple days to break-in but it's a terrific brace. A bit stronger support than the standard ASO (although not as much as I anticipated). The plastic inserts are flexible which surprised me (I was expecting hard plastic). The inserts can be easily removed and the brace can be worn without them. Some were too bulky. Most didn't fit properly because of the shape of my leg and how tiny my ankles were. This is perfect. It's secure, my ankle feels better in it and it's thin enough that I can go back to wearing my regular shoes and sneakers. Definitely a great item. It does hurt a little if it rubs on your ankle bone so I have been using an ace bandage with it just to avoid that for a while but I've also bought thick socks and hopefully that will take care of that problem. Although it is a little bit harder to make sharp cuts wearing the brace. The plastic inserts are very soft, I would consider the inserts more of a barrier than actually providing more support. Worth the price of $30-35 to get me back to playing ball quicker. |
