This product doesn't work at all. Wait. That's not totally accurate. It did work just long enough to tease me into thinking it was actually going to work.

Example...

After charging for an entire day, its fully-charged battery did manage to actually turn on the Wii remote. So far, so good. Problem is, it kept turning itself off at random intervals. Sometimes it took a minute or so to turn off, and other times it only took a few seconds. While pressing the "A" button did manage to re-establish communications with the Wii, it became a bit annoying to have to do this over and over while trying to play a game.

I even gave it the benefit of the doubt, thinking maybe I was absent-mindedly pointing the remote away from the Wii. But that wasn't the case. Even while pointing the remote directly at the Wii receiver, from only a few feet away, the remote would still shut-off at randomly short intervals.

I purchased this product because I needed a rechargeable power solution for a single Wii remote. This seemed more affordable than a charging station for two remotes. Sadly, there is a huge flaw in the design of this product: It charges via USB. This means that the Wii had to be on with the remote in the cradle for it to charge. So... when my Wii is on, I have to have the remote in the charging station which means... yep... I can't use it! Personally, I am not going to leave my Wii running when I am not playing it just to charge the battery pack! I assume I could use my computer to charge the battery pack via USB but the chance of me using my PC to charge my Wii remote is little to none. My Wii remote needs to stay near the Wii, not get carried back and forth from console to computer.

I also don't know how I feel about this sucking power from my Wii in order to charge the battery pack. That seems like it can't be good for the Wii.

Honestly, this seems like... Read more
