We bought these skates for my grandson's 9th birthday; they were a big hit! He is a hockey player, so the balance came easily; wheels provided a way for him to practice his sport while off the ice. The transition from blade to wheel was instantaneous, and tennis ball hockey became the evening's pastime (until the dog caught the ball....).
