Niles MS220 Black Surface-Mount IR MicroSensor

Product Description

The Surface-Mount IR MicroSensor by Niles Audio has been redesigned to make it compatible with a new generation of IR code formats found on many new high-definition, multimedia source devices. The sensor features a high fidelity wideband amplifier that can accurately pass these IR code formats, including the recently introduced Philips RCMM codes.

In addition, a patent-pending Universal Noise Suppression design effectively eliminates IR interference from plasmas, LCDs, and CFL lighting while maintaining signal integrity. This two-stage technology combines an optical noise filter with a smart" electronic circuit to provide consistent, reliable control.

Best of all, these advanced technologies are found in the Surface-Mount IR MicroSensor. It is the single solution for fast, predictable installation in any environment. Secure Adhesive Backing Unit Dimensions - 2 Wide x 11/16 High x 1/2 Deep (50.8 mm Wide x 17.4 mm High x 12.7 mm Deep)

This review is from: Niles MS220 Black Surface-Mount IR MicroSensor (Electronics)
Previously I was using Russound products, an 854 SaphIR Table Top IR Receiver, 857 SaphIR Connecting Block. The Russound products were scrambling the IR commands, causing unusual results. When I would use the down arrow for my projector intermittently my Win 7 Media Center PC would shutdown. Also many times you would press a remote button and there would be no response. I tried both stick mouse emitters and the Niles IRB1 Flasher (flasher had less problems)

I am now using the Niles MS220 IR Sensor, Niles MSU250 IR Repeater and IRB1 IR Flasher. All of my problems have been resolved and the remote IR system is working perfectly.
